This talk presents a dynamic array of teacher images to explain how they affect the teacher identities of mid-career and pre-service teachers, as well as student expectations and levels of public support. We see what is inspiring, worrisome, funny, and professionally useful about different types of teacher characters and look at ways of co-opting teacher images to advocate for classrooms.
