This presentation will review my doctoral research in which I examine the effectiveness of the First Nations, Metis and Inuit Policy Framework. I will give a brief overview of the study. While the majority of the time will be spent on practical application ideas for educators to more effectively integrate the policy framework into their classroom specific to the core subjects. I will engage the audience in three ways. First, the audience will be challenged to think of ways that they can implement these strategies into their classroom. Second, audience members will then have the opportunity to share their ideas with everyone in the session. Third, audience members will also be given a chance to share ways that they may already be implementing the policy framework into their classroom. Similar policy frameworks exist throughout Canada, and this presentation can benefit every educator.
