Experience a unique workshop and enjoy the power of rhythms that will stimulate creativity, ingenuity and collaboration while discovering a model aimed at improving student results through rhythm.

To all the teachers, it will be very appreciated if you could prepare your organic instruments before the workshop: bucket, sticks, plastic bowls, jars/bags of rice or beans, spoons, a flag, a basket, or your own drum.

Participate in an interactive workshop using drums and other percussion instruments from around the world.

This multicultural workshop provides teachers with the necessary tools to facilitate a drum circle with an innovative and improvisational method, rhythm activities, and body percussion experimentations.

Louise will demonstrate an approach to cognitive training helping children tap into their inner creativity and discover the soothing impact of rhythm. Participants will focus on a foundation of rhythmic patterns and songs in four languages: English, Spanish, African dialect and French as well as traditional dance. Teachers will acquire new instructional methods!

What teachers will be Learnings, Focus and Take-Aways from this workshop:

Specific studies conducted by professionals in the fields of music therapy and mental health show that rhythm reduces tension, anxiety and stress, connects people and promotes collaboration. In addition, the transmission of rhythmic energy to the brain actually synchronizes the left and right hemisphere.

Louise’s multicultural program helps teachers‘ fulfill the mission they pursue in their curriculum. Through their involvement in the various rhythm activities, participants will acquire leadership and teamwork skills, as well as increasing their creativity and concentration and strengthening their peer relationships fostering collaboration and harmony; qualities essential to successful results in the classroom. Participants will enjoy enhancing their communication skills as they realize that, to produce a harmonious performance, they need to listen and engage with one another to achieve the synchronicity, coordination, discipline and focus necessary for a group performance.

Teachers will take away new creative ideas (songs, rhythm games, body percussions and drum circle facilitation techniques) to use in the classroom that will stimulate their students and enrich their life!
